@Avivo I took a look at the site, and while I didn't understand everything typed up, it didn't really give a lot of context as to "what we are seeing." You can tell it was done for a presentation, not an online tutorial.

A lot of your image collections are missing the high resoution versions of images. (it gets very grainy) so you might want to look into that.

@Oleson: While I agree that there are other tutorials for the tools and the basic math on the front end, this is all a starting point for what I am really going to get into. "How to actually display your images and get a fully functional "black box" control you can use." So while it would be nice to call it "done" after looking at those tutorials, that is just the surface of what I will be getting into.

There were a lot of tutorials that helped me to understand "what" deep zoom is, but there is almost nothing on how to actually use deep zoom programmatically. How to position images correctly without overlap. How to make images line up. Why you can potentially bring your host computer to it's knees if you use too many images.

Like any good blogger I am starting at the basics before I get into the heavy lifting. Thank you for your input though. :)

Thank you for the detailed description. It looks like you've had a lot of work doing it. ;-) But I really think that you can lean back for the rest, because Daniel Gasienica already did all this in his blog some years ago:
